Folks I’d like to remind you of my Indie Artist Photo Shoot.

I designed this shoot for all “Indie” artists who are in need of images yet have a limited budget. It provides great images for those who are on the journey to express themselves creatively and need support to build their foundation.
If you are an unsigned musician or band, a DJ, an actor, author, interior designer, and anyone who is involved in creating your own creative expression and need photos, let’s do it together. As an Indie Artist myself I know how important support is, and what I give in these shoots will certainly support your endeavor and fulfill your needs.
I’ve created this for all artists who have discovered their passion and moving forward to live it. I’ve had a lot of fun getting together with new and interesting people who have the same intention with their art as I do. And it helps in building a foundation so you can live the dream.

You have worked very hard to get to this point. You’ve practiced countless hours. You have performed show after show. You have spent all you could afford to make your CD, and now you have little to no marketing budget to distribute and promote your music. What’s next?

If you are like most Indie Artists you post your music to I-tunes, CD Baby, Tunecore, MySpace, and all the usual sites. Some of you are still trying to sell your downloads for $.99. Others have taken the advice of industry leaders, and are allowing the fans to download your music for free. Why for free? It is a new market out there. With each year people are buying far fewer CD’s. File sharing continues, and it gets harder to build a fan base and get good gigs. The successful Indie Artist of today realizes that Live Performance revenues are where they will make the most money.

Merchandise sales at live shows are very profitable if you market your music effectively. But there is a catch 22. If you have few fans, you get no good gigs. No gigs, no merchandise sales = no record label or publishing deals = no booking agency either.
So now more than ever you must do things differently.

By allowing the fans to download some of your music (not all of it, unless you want to) you build a fan base much quicker. You play bigger more profitable shows, you sell more merchandise, and then you are using the internet to your advantage to virally grow your fanbase and spread your music. Not just locally but around the world. Don’t just be on the internet, make money on it.

And here is the best part. It’s legal, and it’s FREE to both you and your fans, AND YOU WILL GET PAID FOR EVERY PERSON
THAT GOES TO YOUR PAGE, WHETHER THEY DOWNLOAD YOUR MUSIC OR NOT. Let me explain.

NewGrooveMusic artists get paid for every HIT on their page from ad revenues that NGM collects from sponsors and companies that advertise on the NGM website. The fan wins, you the artist wins, and the sponsors win!

Nothing to buy, your fans can feel good about sharing your music with their friends because the more downloads, the more you get paid. It is that simple.

·	Our Non-exclusive agreement allows you to maintain 100% ownership and control of your music
·	You receive massive internet exposure with no cost or risk to you
·	You will grow your fan base faster than was possible before
·	You’ll sell more merchandise
· You will draw more fans to your shows not just in your local area, in all areas
·	You can continue to sell, promote, and market your music in any way you choose with no restrictions or conditions from us.

It is a no brainer. You have nothing to lose, and everything to gain. And if you are not happy at anytime you may ask us to remove you from the roster, and we will.

NewGrooveMusic only accepts the today’s best Indie Artists. To apply simply click the SonicBids logo and submit your music today!

A couple more things about NGM. We have just produced our first promotional compilation CD featuring 18 of our finest artists. This will be distributed to fans and industry people during the upcoming SXSW and Red Gorilla Festivals in Austin, Texas.
Cost to the artists, NOT ONE PENNY. We want to help you draw new fans to your website and this is one way we feel we can help you in a big way. Think about it, ZERO COST to the artists. And in the future we will be Showcasing NGM artists at major events. Again free to the selected artists.

Let me show you how you’ll get paid:

Example: Sponsorships will be sold to local and universal businesses and placed on the NGM website. 15% of the revenue generated by the sale of all sponsorships will be divided proportionately among all artists and paid upon collection of invoices each month.

* If there are $100,000 total collected sales during a given month for all sponsors, the total artist royalty from these sales would be 15%, or $15,000.
* If an artist receives 5% of the total hits from all artist pages, that artist will receive 5% of the total royalty, or a $750 royalty paid to that artist for that month.
* In addition, the top ten artists each month will share an additional 5% of the total sales, or $500 each in this scenario for a total of $1,250 for that month.
* If everything remained the same for an entire year, the total annual royalty for that artist would be $15,000.

Obviously, it’s unlikely that everything will remain the same every month. The higher the percentage of hits to an artist’s page, the higher their percentage of the total royalty will be. Also the higher the total sales, the higher the royalty payment will be.

To generate $100,000 in revenue each month all we need is 140 sponsors total. That may sound like a lot, but consider this…all we need is 5 businesses in 28 local areas across the USA to get
those sponsorships. There are over 40,000 zip codes in the USA! We’ll have an entire staff of trained sales people working on this, so 140 sponsors is actually a pretty conservative goal.

As the website increases in popularity, the hits, number of sponsorships, and the artist share will increase proportionately. We’ll also be extending our reach universally into other countries which will dramatically increase potential sponsorship sales.

The more music you give away, the bigger your fan base will continue to grow…and the more CDs, merchandise and seats you’ll sell at your shows. It’s that simple! Think about it, if you put a banner that we supply on your pages leading all your friends and fans to your NGM page, you will get paid for their visit whether they download your music or not. I said PAID. Do the math. I guarantee you that you will make more money “giving away” your music than trying to exclusively sell it one $.99 download at a time.

Wendy Colonna, RYT is a woman of many passions. In addition to her award winning musical career, Colonna has also been cultivating her deep love for yoga and wellness in the classroom and on the road. Wendy completed her 200hr teacher training at Yoga Yoga in Austin, TX and has since studied under David Swenson & Mark Darby. She was initially attracted to yoga as a “cool-down” from her boxing workouts, but the post-workout practice kindled in her an unexpected sense of balance, strength and peace of mind. She decided to pursue the yoga path alongside her musical career and has integrated her yoga and teaching practice on and off the road. Colonna has released a Yoga DVD and workbook entitled Yoga-To-Go: Yoga for Musicians & Other Traveling Professionals through publisher, Good Karma Mama in the fall of 2008.

The intention with the DVD instruction and workbook is to empower people who desperately need to unwind their bodies, but don’t have the luxury of attending formal yoga classes due to travel or work constraints . . . The practice is beginner friendly and gives tips on how to incorporate yoga into your hotel room, vehicle and any other tight spaces. It’s a wonderful travel companion!
Testimonials:

Collective Soul’s former drummer, Ryan Hoyle said that our DVD, “Yoga To Go” was “an answer to a prayer” for him in his rigorous tour schedule.
“Wendy’s intuition and knowledge of the body shine in her personalized and client centered approach to sharing and teaching yoga. A session with Wendy is a journey of mind body and spirit working together to get you to the next level in strength and awareness.”

Rochelle Poulson, Nationally Certified Massage Therapist

“I’m very new to yoga, and Wendy’s class made me feel completely comfortable and welcome. Her energy is warm and inviting; she’s serious about her work, but communicates in a very relaxed way.”

Valerie Kanak, Senior Accountant,Lance Armstrong Foundation

“Wendy’s amazing ability to teach is undeniable to anyone who has had the pleasure of working with her. Her creativity and passion is apparent in everything she does. I have not ever had an instructor who has impacted my learning so much and don’t expect to find one anytime soon.”

Claire Hodgins, Student

“As a busy, full-time, working musician, staying healthy and having energy is important. Wendy’s charisma and passionate instruction are truly insightful and you can achieve over-all wellness!”…………Ryan Waguespack….Full-time gigging musician and music instructor.

Wendy is a wonderfully enthusiastic and engaging instructor. She knows how to effectively explain the postures and makes it totally fun to do!”

Amy Fletcher, LMT

“A piece of manna from heaven for the mind, body and soul, Yoga-to-Go is a invaluable tool to establish a nourishing yoga practice for even my busiest clients! I also use it to introduce yoga to my family and friends. We are truly looking forward to the next chapter in the series. Bravo, Kula! Bravo, Wendy!”

Holley Howard, LMT Massage Therapist, New Mother

“Even to someone as woefully inexperienced at yoga as myself, Wendy’s instruction was crystal clear at telling what one should be focusing on while doing these positions. This DVD/CD really helped me (mentally, physically, and spiritually) through a grueling month-long east coast tour.”

Rob Hooper, Drummer Extraordinaire

Lake Charles American Press and the Times of Southwest Louisiana in July 08.
Wendy Colonna-Yoga to Go

While Willie Nelson can’t wait to get back on the road again, most artists find it grueling physically, emotionally and spiritually. A different venue in a different town every night for weeks or months on end takes its toll on the most hard-core roadies.

Wendy Colonna’s sheer love of performing live more than offsets the rigors of the road. The Lake Charles native singer-songwriter is one of those performers who gives the audience her utmost in every performance, regardless if she’s in a packed auditorium or a smoky club. Her drive to perform at her peak at every performance led her to the practice of yoga.

Review: The Georgia boys are at it again. Hard to believe it was all the way back in 1994 when we first heard Collective Soul hit on the airwaves with their first single, Shine, yet here they are still making music with another great self-titled release. Though many fans have taken to calling the band’s latest album, Rabbit, there is really no name for this one. According to CS, the rabbit is representative of many things, including life and a new start. Well this album has plenty of life…no question.

The first track, Welcome All Again, kicks things off in an explosive way. Great crunchy CS rock riffage that fans have come to love. Is it just me, or are Collective Soul’s riffs always recognizable as Collective Soul right away? They have managed to create a sound and style uniquely their own over the years. Think about; who sounds like Collective Soul?

In general this album seems to be more of a return to just good ole, kick ya in the head, and leave ya smilin’, rock & roll. Powerful rock songs like, Welcome All Again, Dig, She Does, & Lighten Up are just what the doctor ordered for those needing a good, rockin’ CS fix. You will be singing along in no time while bobbin’ your head to some very pleasing, and catchy riffs & melodies. It’s okay, you can admit it here.

Now, having gone on about how rockin’ this album is, I must now say…that’s not all. The single Staring Down is another one of those beautifully mixed combo songs of a more upbeat, yet near ballad like sound. Very pleasing guitar & piano melodies haunt this track so well, and Ed’s lyrics and vocals deliver as usual…spot on!

Now it must be said that there is something special about the song You. Apart from it being a striking ballad as good as any you have heard from Collective Soul before, it is the first song written together as a band. Ed let go of the reigns on this one, and all the fellas put together a masterpiece; a truly beautiful song that so many of us can relate to…those of us who have been fortunate enough to find our own “You.” Note to the band here, write together more often! =) Not taking anything away from Ed by any means, after all, he has been the driving force behind all the CS songs we have come to love, but there is just something special about a nice collaboration that everyone gets to put their heart & souls into. The Collective work of Souls if you will. (okay so that was a little cheesy, sue me)

I admit, I really can’t say enough good things about Collective Soul’s music. Been a fan for many years now, and I could easily call them my favorite band. This album has it all…the rock, the ballad, the memorable melodies & lyrics, and those fantastic riffs. I was fortunate enough to catch Collective Soul on tour back on September 1st, in Houston, TX, and they were incredible. There is more than just music with this band. One could say there is something spiritual and uplifting in the music they create, as evident in many of their songs, and especially on Hymn For My Father, a tribute to the Roland brother’s late father. In this reviewer’s opinion, in a world where so much has become watered down, self-absorbed, or just created to sell records to a typically, easily influenced base of consumers, it is refreshing to hear bands like Collective Soul. According to the media their popularity may have diminished somewhat, but what does that matter? The music has gotten better and they have stayed true and continue on in excellence. Oh that there were more bands to say this of. Not to mention there are many many of us out there who will always consider ourselves fans.

Thanks, Collective Soul.

Scores of fans packed into Reliant Stadium on October 14th, 2009, standing shoulder to shoulder in front of what appeared to be a large space station set up down in one end of the field. This was the kind of thing you only saw in movies or in dreams. Anxious fans looked on in awe, filled with excitement over what they were about to witness. The ceiling of the dome begin to open, revealing a darkening sky. The crowed stirred, as the lights went down, but they would have to wait for their favorite foursome from Dublin. Muse took the stage first and put on a great performance as the opening act. Though Muse did an excellent job, we had only witnessed the smallest glimpse of the magnificence that would fill our very own space station that evening. We waited as the crew made the adjustments on stage to get ready for the next performance. The amount of preparations going on was mind-boggling, and you just knew something amazing was fixing o happen. Then it happened; the lights dimmed and David Bowie’s Space Oddity echoed through the night with it’s familiar, and fitting lyrics: Ground Control to Major Tom Commencing countdown, engines on Check ignition and may God’s love be with you Suddenly, the noise from the crowd became deafening. There they were…U2 had made their way out from the dressing area and were walking up the stairs to pilot us all into a night of sonic pleasure. The first notes of Breathe blasted from the space station, filling our ears with what we had been waiting for. The sounds, the lights, the excitement from everyone was just incredible. We were witnessing a rock n’ roll marvel. Each song had it’s own unique aura, with lighting and video customized for it. One quickly began to realize why the tour was titled 360. Something was happening everywhere. The band played from the center, circular stage, and then would run out across bridges onto the circular track that surrounded the stage. Every person, in every seat caught glimpses of the band from every angle. From my place, standing in the inner circle right near the main stage, I enjoyed the intimacy of being up close to Bono, Edge, and Adam as they would stand before us, walk over us, or run around behind us. It was truly amazing. Even Larry came out during the disco-like remix of I’ll Go Crazy If I Don’t Go Crazy Tonight. There were so many memorable moments from the show, and I will just list a few of my favorites:

Singing along with the entire crowd to the familiar verse and chorus of one of U2′s best, I Still Haven’t Found What I’m Looking For, as Bono just stood and listened.

Having the bridges that connected the stages suddenly start moving, and coming right over our heads. Bono, Edge, and Adam would make their way over them, and stop and sing or play to those of us in the inner circle.

The roar of the crowd as the familiar intros to songs like Beautiful Day and Elevation sounded off, followed by fanatical jumping up and down and pumping fists in the air. Great stuff!

A lovely performance of One which transitioned into a beautiful, worshipful version of the old classic hymn, Amazing Grace. The crowd sang along with the familiar chorus as a grateful mood had been set. Then it came…the sonic greatness of the opening notes to Where the Streets Have No Names. The crowd ERUPTS! Pure genius playing these three songs together.

Bono’s jacket during the UltraViolet performance. You will see what I mean.

SO SO SO much more. You will have to see this show yourself to get the true feeling of the experience.

I’ve seen a lot of concerts in my day, and this was truly one of the best ever, if not the best. The guys in U2, along with stage designer Willie Williams, have really outdone themselves. They have created a musical show for the ages, that will be talked about for many years to come. Thank you, U2! Throwing in a little extra now; the set list for the Houston Show was: Breathe Get on Your Boots Magnificent Mysterious Ways Beautiful Day I Still Haven’t Found What I’m Looking For Stuck In A Moment No Line on the Horizon Elevation Your Blue Room Until The End of the World Unforgettable Fire City of Blinding Lights Vertigo I’ll Go Crazy – Remix Sunday Bloody Sunday MLK Walk On One Where The Streets Have No Name Ultraviolet With or Without You Moment of Surrender If you are a U2 fan, this show is a must see! I hope all of you can see it! And Check out U2′s latest album, No Line On The Horizon.
